Support. I don't consider the lack of existing reviews to be a problem, @Dreamy_Jazz's previous contributions and on-wiki functionary roles clearly demonstrate that we can trust them to make good decisions about patches in areas they're familiar with and ask for help if they're unsure.

There's a duplicate task here (T307735). Their issue seems to be resolved as I couldn't reproduce the issue on their site. Not clear if due to their MW upgrade, extension update, etc, but possible this was fixed a while back.

First, let me start off by completely agreeing that @Dreamy_Jazz has been doing great work, and thank you so much for your contributions. But, that work has been primarily the creation of patches, not reviewing the patches of others. I've added to the task description links to the patches with +1s, -1s, or comments from them (in all repos, though so far only checkuser patches have been reviewed/commented on). I see very few such patches - currently, there are
- 4 patches with a +1 from them (all have merged)
- 1 patch with a -1
- 7 patches with comments, the 5 with either a +1 or a -1, and 2 patches that are reverts

This is still an issue, it also occurs in MediaWiki 1.35.6 and cargo 3.2 latest version downloaded today, June 24 2022 via the gitclone instructions. I noticed OPs MW version has changed, and updated it a while back, it has since changed again to 1.38.1 (the problem seems to have existed for several Cargo versions).

This was caused by https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/mediawiki/skins/Vector/+/803976 which switched the h3 to a p in legacy Vector. ULS has some JavaScript that overrides this.

composer.json files are mainly used for linter and build tools on the CI or to install dependency for all installs, but not to support install of the extension itself, thats why the files are not needed to be valid.
All the information are just duplicated with extension.json and would introduce maintenance burden or going out of sync. No need to have strictly valid files, along there are usable for CI purpose.

Issues with non-adjacent (Option A):
- Only makes sense when done across menu triggering components
- Unlogical from z-index visual metaphor if
- Means a lot of extra technical effort to get right (extra code, possible z-index issues, possible mouseout situation where menu would disappear on 1px gap)
- Needs to be retrofitted on all focus outline providing components also the ones in place in OOUI (DropdownWidget, ComboboxWidget, LookupWidget)
- To be applied consistently we also need to take into account dropdowns opening up to the top. TypeaheadSearch is the exception here, not the rule. When Dropdown is in viewport at bottom, we calculate and show dropdown on top for better usability
New solution will need to take this into account as well, hiding top border is then looking like a mistake:
