Anvil is a cross-platform, open-source, MIT-licensed wrapper library for Vulkan, developed by AMD engineers. It has been designed with the goal of reducing the amount of time that developers need to spend in order to write a working Vulkan application from scratch. Learn more about Anvil or download the source code from Github.

A-Frame is an open source framework for easily creating WebVR experiences with HTML. It is designed and maintained by MozVR (Mozilla’s virtual reality team research team). A-Frame wraps WebGL in HTML custom elements, enabling web developers to create 3D VR scenes that leverage WebGL’s power, without having to learn its complex low-level API. Because WebGL is ubiquitous in modern browsers on desktop and mobile, A-Frame experiences work across desktop, iPhone (Android support coming soon), and Oculus Rift headsets.

The PowerVR Imaging Framework for Android comprises a set of extensions to the OpenCL and EGL Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that enable efficient interoperability of software running on PowerVR GPUs with other components such as a CPU, ISP and VDE. These extensions enable the construction of shared memory allocations and software pipelines across multiple hardware components with no redundant memory copies (termed zero-copy). The framework is integrated at the library layer of the Android software stack, enabling efficient interoperability between APIs such as OpenCL, OpenGL ES and emerging APIs such as OpenVX.

Xilinx, Inc announced the 2015.1 release of the SDAccel development environment for OpenCL framework, C, and C++. This new release enhances the SDAccel integrated development environment (IDE), extends OpenCL standard compliance, and features an expanded ecosystem of SDAccel development environment-certified Alliance Members providing platforms, libraries, and design services.

The C Framework for OpenCL, cf4ocl, is a cross-platform pure C99 object-oriented framework for developing and benchmarking OpenCL projects in C/C++. Cf4ocl underwent a complete rewrite, and now offers a cross-platform object-oriented framework for developing and benchmarking OpenCL projects in C and C++. Cf4ocl promotes the rapid development of OpenCL host programs, assisting in the benchmarking of OpenCL events, such as kernel execution and data transfers. The framework also provides utilities to simplify the analysis of the OpenCL environment and of kernel requirements.

ARM announced OpenCL for ARM NEON technology. This enables the use of the OpenCL framework on ARM Cortex-A processors. Alongside the already supported ARM Mali GPUs, OpenCL for NEON now enables heterogeneous multiprocessing on any Cortex-A based device. Heterogeneous multiprocessing enables compute-intensive workloads to be tasked to the most appropriate CPU or GPU resource improving both end-user experience and battery life.

WebGL Paris is an open free event targeting developers, researchers, artists or students interested directly or indirectly to the WebGL technology. It is French spoken and framework agnostic. Long and short WebGL lectures and workshops will take place throughout the afternoon and evening. Registration to the event is available on the event website.
