I installed rocky 8.3 when it came out last year and had to go with a noveau driver at the beginning (because that was what was packaged?). I did install the nvidia drivers (older drivers) outside of the repos and it seems to work OK but I get errors while updating the software. The errors range from incompatibility with the newer kernel to the installed cert being wrong etc. I want to do a clean install of rocky 8.6 on another server and move my gtx 1060 card to that server. Will rocky 8.6 install the nvidia drivers instead of the noveau drivers and not have issues with updates since the released nvidia drivers are part of the repo now? Noveau drivers worked, but the nvidia drivers are much better.
I'm running penldap on the latest rocky linux, the ldap rpm's are installed from the official repos (openldap-servers-2.4.46-18). My previous experience with ldap was all running on centos 5/6, which I've had working for years. It seems rocky 8 comes with a slew of changes that have made much of the official documentation obselete. For instance, the official openldap docs on configuring sync_repl refer to editing the /etc/openldap/slapd.conf file, this has been obseleted for a while now. For reference, here is the official documentation for openldap 2.4 The new way of doing things is apparently adding the configs directy into the db via ldif files. The closest documentation I can find is from ubuntu, but the initial import of the ldif file fails. I've tried with a fresh install of openldap on Rocky as well as docker containers from oxsia. If there is an ldap guru out there that can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated
I have an unusual high CPU load on my Rocky 8.6 server since a few days. I use it exclusively as a web server (nginx 1.22.0) and have no idea why the CPU load is suddenly permanently over 50% - noticeable are the 3 services in the screenshot (https://ibb.co/WpwsqC8) - can anyone help me?https://i.imgur.com/el5pMu7.jpg
